Spending a Weekend at the Ohio NAM State Pageant:
This weekend I went to Ohio's NAM State Pageant! There I had the opportunity to meet the State Finalists from Ohio, meet other visiting Royalty, and make tons of new friends in my NAMily!!
#3 on my bucket list: *check*!!! :)
#3 on my bucket list: *check*!!! :)
The contestants arrived, and my job was to collect the Recommendation Papers for National American Miss. (When I competed at the Michigan pageant I turned in 50 names of girls I recommended) at the Ohio Pageant some of the contestants turned in literally thousands of names.
As I collected their recommendation papers, I handed out my cards very successfully (I handed out 65 cards over the entire weekend).
Besides the hotel's icy temperature, Friday was extremely fun and I met tons of awesome girls. The Queens and I were going around and meeting the competing girls. I felt like a celebrity. A bit later as the contestants practiced their circle turns for the formal wear competition I got to critique them and give them complements on their walks. The girls appreciated my advice, and I enjoyed helping them.
I met many new friends and went to the PJ PARTY and everyone was so nice and excited to meet all of us visiting royalty (my NAMily sisters). At the party we played so many games!

I especially liked the game Pterodactyl. This game is when you cannot show your teeth no matter what! If you do you are eliminated. This got very difficult because we would go around in a circle saying "PTERODACTYL!" with a silly face, and then we would make a pterodactyl noise to reverse the direction. It was so funny, but we could not smile or laugh otherwise we would show our teeth and be eliminated. |
SATURDAY:
This is the day when Ohio crowned their new Jr. Pre-Teen Cover Girl, and I got to meet her :)
I am so excited to have a little Cover Sister!
Saturday was the formal wear competition, and I sang a few songs with my NAMily behind stage while we waited. Here are a few photos from that:
